Norfolk County Council Elections

The four-yearly election of all 84 members of Norfolk County Council took place on Thursday May 6th 2021.

Twelve of the 84 divisions lie within the South Norfolk Council area. Over the last twenty years eleven of them have been represented, at one time or another, by Liberal Democrat councillors. Across the County the Liberal Democrats put up a strong campaign, but in an election dominated by national issues we fell back to a net 8 Councillors, two fewer than in 2017. However four of those were elected for the first time this year, replacing four long serving and hard working liberal democrats - always a difficult feat to pull off as there are no "safe" seats for Lib Dems. In South Norfolk we celebrate the election of Sharon Blundell who succeeds the legendary Tim East in Costessey. For details of our candidates in South Norfolk, see below. The detailed results of the elections can be found on the South Norfolk/Broadland District Council website at https://www.southnorfolkandbroadland.gov.uk/downloads/download/599/norfolk-county-council-elections---south-norfolk
