Chris Wows the crowd in Wymondham

Chris spoke with clarity, integrity and passion in answer to questions set by a team of Wymondham High Politics students. Topics debated by the candidates during the event included Imigration, our future relationship with the EU, transport and potholes, schools and the NHS. All seven of the South Norfolk candidates were in attendance to present their stance on these issues and engage in debate. Chris made it clear that supporting and rebuilding the NHS was integral to his principles and at the heart of this election. He also pointed to how local problems such as potholes were symptomatic of a much wider issue of local councils being inadequately funded. This is compounded by this government repeatedly failing to give advance notice of funding, therby preventing councils from engaing in robust future planning.
On immigration, Chris made an impassioned plea for us to stop demonising human beings in real need by referring to them as "boat people" and other negative terms.
When the Conservative candidate declared the introduction of same-sex marriages as a success of the Tory party, Chris politely but firmly made it clear that this was a blatently untrue statement: same-sex marriage was driven through as a Libdem initiative in the coalition government. This drew loud applause from the audience.
When Chris stood to make key points, his candour and honesty met with positive and enthusiastic audience response throughout the debate. he was praised for his passion by a prominent political apponent. A floating voter remakred after the hustings that Chris was best prepared for a career as an MP
