Liberal Democrats select local councillor Chris Brown for South Norfolk as General Election is finally called.

South Norfolk councillor and now Liberal Democrat MP candidate Chris Brown says he will campaign for action to tackle the cost of living crisis, the NHS crisis and the sewage scandal.

Locally Chris will focus his campaign on increasing the numbers of GPs and dentists and delivering more affordable housing for South Norfolk. He says a proper underground or offshore alternative to the hugely controversial proposed Norwich to Tilbury pylons is desperately needed and he will campaign hard against the proposals.

The Liberal Democrats are gaining momentum after beating the Conservatives at the May local elections and winning four stunning parliamentary by-election victories since the last General Election.

Responding to Rishi Sunak calling a General Election on 4th July, the Liberal Democrat Parliamentary candidate for South Norfolk, Chris Brown said:

“For years our area has been taken for granted by a completely out-of-touch Conservative Government that has failed to get the basics right. They have lurched from crisis to crisis and we have suffered with a South Norfolk MP who has neglected local residents for years. It’s time for a change.

“Local health services have been brought to their knees, people’s mortgages and rent have skyrocketed and water companies have been allowed to pump their filthy sewage into our rivers and waterways. All done by a Conservative government much more interested in fighting between themselves than standing up for the country.

“In South Norfolk Liberal Democrats represent the best chance to remove the Conservatives, as across the constituency we are second to them in elected district councillors. Local residents know these Lib Dem councillors work immensely hard for their communities and want a local MP who will work just as hard to represent them. Every vote for the Liberal Democrats is a vote for a fair deal. It’s a vote for a party who will stand up for our community and our health services.”
